School/Family Compact

Title I is the nation's largest federal program for schools. It provides funding for increasing student achievement in schools. It is based on the economic level of families in the school’s attendance area.

The purpose of Title I is to:

• Help every child receive a high-quality education.

• Build capacity for family engagement.

• Meet the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act.

Family Involvement Policy - The staff and parents of Ridgeview Elementary School believe that the improved academic achievement of each student is a responsibility shared by the entire school community. This includes District 49, Ridgeview administration, school staff members, students, families, and community members.

School/Family Compact - This compact is an agreement between families, students, staff, and the school, stating that we will work together to ensure the academic success of every child.

Parents and Family

As a parent, I will:

• Model respect and positivity for students and staff.

• Ensure my child comes to school and is on time

• Attend all parent/teacher conferences

• Monitor homework and create a space for my child to be successful

• Monitor screen time

• Communicate with school staff regarding my child’s needs

• Participate in school activities including Parent Orientation, STEAM Night, Literacy Night, Heritage Night, field trips, student programs, parent-teacher conferences, etc. as able

• Agree to school norms and policies and uphold expectations

• Volunteer in the classroom as I’m able to

• Support and follow the rules and procedures of the school and District 49

Students

As a student, I will:

• Follow the social contract. Show respect to others as well as myself

• Do my best and work hard in class

• Listen and follow instructions

• Come to school ready to learn with a good attitude

• Stay on task and complete all assignments to the best of my ability

• Follow all school rules, policies, procedures, and regulations

Staff

As a staff member, I will:

• Facilitate the district Title I School Compact

• Facilitate a high-quality and engaging curriculum

• Encourage families to be involved in understanding Title I

• Offer resources that help families stay engaged in their child’s academic and social-emotional growth

• Foster open and consistent communication

• Create an inclusive and welcoming school environment

• Share frequent reports on their students' progress

• Encourage families to volunteer in the classroom
